Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK Student Wins Heckscher Museum Art Contest
The Plainview-Old Bethpage School District is proud to announce 11th grade Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School student, Emily Kolsky’s artwork, titled “Free” is on display at the Heckscher Museum. Emily’s colored pencil drawing was accepted into the prestigious and competitive Long Island's Best Young Artists Exhibit, which is an annual challenge for students in grades 9 to 12 to connect their experiences at the Museum to their art making in the classroom. The arts-in-education initiative is the only juried exhibition on Long Island that offers high school students the opportunity to exhibit their art in a museum setting.
Emily's drawing along with 84 other extraordinary works of art are on display at the Heckscher Museum in Huntington through April 9, 2017. Congratulations to Emily and her art teacher Mrs. Beinlich.
