Superintendent’s Highlight of the Week
October 14, 2016
Join us for the annual rites of fall when we welcome all alumni back to Homecoming this Saturday, October 15, 2016. The parade kicks off at 1:15 pm at the high school and will lead us onto the field where our Hawks will battle Valley Stream Central on the Football field at 2:00 pm. As always we can rely on our fantastic Cheerleaders to keep our spirits high and spur us onto to victory.
We have a number of teams with extraordinary performances so far this year. They include: Boys’ Volleyball, currently undefeated, with a 9-0 record. The Hawks are currently ranked #1 in Nassau County. Boys’ Soccer is in 1st place in their conference with a 5-5-2 record. They are looking to secure their 3rd straight conference title with a win over Westbury High School on Friday. Sam Rozenbaum has 8 goals on the year. Girls’ Soccer is 4-4 on the year. Freshman Alexa Vegoda leads the team in goals (7) and assists (4). Seniors Jessica Bernstein has 4 goals and 4 assists, Senior Keri Birkenhead has 5 goals and 2 assists. Girls’ Volleyball has a 6-2 record on the season. Girls’ Swimming is 3-2 on the year.
While we generally do not post wins and losses at the middle school level, I could not help but notice that both Middle School Tennis teams are undefeated. They have not lost a match so far this year. Way to go Hawkettes!!!
